Formula & assumptions
Your current grade must represent all completed course work other than the final exam. The exam weight is the percentage of the full course assigned to that exam. The result may be above 100% when a target is unreachable, or below 0% when it is already secured under the entered weighting. Those values are shown rather than silently capped.
Worked example
A current grade of 80%, target of 85% and final worth 40% require (85 − 80 × 0.6)/0.4 = 92.5% on the final.
How to use this calculator

Frequently asked questions
What if the required score exceeds 100%?
Your target cannot be reached under the entered weights without extra credit or a different grading rule.
My course requires passing the final separately. Is that included?
No. A separate exam pass requirement can apply even when the weighted total is sufficient.
Will my instructor round this result?
This tool does not apply course-specific rounding. Follow the syllabus or ask your instructor.
