Which result do you need?
| Input | What to check | Tool |
|---|---|---|
| An application response | Characters, words and UTF-8 bytes | Word counter |
| Pasted paragraphs | Extra spaces and blank lines | Text cleaner |
| One repeated column | Occurrence counts and a unique list | Duplicate remover |
| Two columns | Common entries and entries missing from either list | List comparison |
Example: missing entries in two lists
Enter 00123 and 00456 in List A, and 00456 and 00789 in List B, one entry per line.
| Result | Entry |
|---|---|
| Common | 00456 |
| A only | 00123 |
| B only | 00789 |
If A is your reference list, 00123 is missing from B. Decide which list is the reference before interpreting the output.
Read the Excel-column walkthroughCharacters and bytes are different
A character limit is not a byte limit. This counter uses UTF-8 bytes; a receiving service may use another encoding or counting rule.
